Marine Painters – Recent Works

To celebrate the 400th anniversary of the French Navy, Richaud Space welcomes 21 Official Marine Painters: painters, photographers, sculptors and ceramicists.
A striking tribute, between the power of the seas, the poetry of horizons and the diversity of nautical landscapes.

Immerse yourself in the heart of the origins of French diplomacy, from the 16th to the 18th century.
This exhibition, designed with the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, reveals the importance of Versailles in the construction of French diplomatic codes.
A captivating historical journey

- The influence of diplomacy in the education of princes.

1725: Native American allies at the court of Louis XV
Versailles – from 25 November 2025 to 3 May 2026
The winter’s major exhibition.
It traces the visit to France in 1725 of Oto, Osage, Missouri and Illinois chiefs, invited by the India Company and the young Louis XV.
A historic encounter between two worlds
France, present in Louisiana, must then navigate the diplomatic codes of Native American nations.
Period documents, accounts, engravings and archives – including those from the Mercure de France – allow us to relive this exceptional exchange.

- Unpublished maps of Louisiana (18th century)
- Native American artifacts held in the Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac museum
- Artistic reference to Rameau’s Les Indes galantes
